Slim Pickings for Pedro

Jon Heyman of SI.com, is reporting Pedro Martinez more than likely lost one potential suitor when the Indians signed Carl Pavano. Cleveland picked Pavano off the scrap heap, at the bargain basement price of $1.5 million plus $5.3 million in incentives. While never making an offer to Pedro, it's believed the Indians were contemplating something in the $7 million range depending on how his health checked out.
It's clear the Mets have set Pedro on the back burner since the acquisition of Tim Redding, as i stated in my blog earlier this week. Heyman offered up Ollie as the Mets main target, with Randy Wolf as their primary backup. Based on Omar's affinity for Perez, Ollie can never be counted out when it comes to the Mets.
The Diamondbacks are at least one more team showing interest in Martinez.
